The kitchen team of Double Hill Ranch & Lodge is well known in the Interlakes Region for their fabulous private dinner parties and their active role in various events like for example the annual International Gourmet Night at Bridge Lake School or a locally organized Dinner Club.
History and Recommendations
Our Chef has lived and worked in Germany, Switzerland and Spain. In the last few years he worked in highly acclaimed restaurants in Germany and Switzerland and a small but fine boutique winery in Germany. The experience include Michelin Star and Gault Millau recommended Restaurants in Basel - Switzerland (Poeschtli) and in Freiburg - Germany (Zehner's Stube) as well as one of the finest Italian Restaurants in Munich (Ca Brunello - Cucina Italiana). He also attented the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Napa Valley (USA) and has a wide knowlege in wine, including severall certifications.
Private Chef Service
Starting January 2012 we offer our "Private Chef Service" to the public in the south Cariboo. Let us create, organize, shop and cook for your event in your own home. We even clean your kitchen after the "battle", so you can sit back, entertain your guests and enjoy your own party. Besides the North American classics we are happy to offer an international selection of menu items. The choices start from countless small fancy plates like Tapas or Antipasti from all over the world. The menu include the classic and very popular cuisines from Germany, Switzerland and Austria and of course a wide variety of mediterranian plates from Italy, Spain and France. For very special occasions we also offer "nouvelle cuisine" inspired dishes with the french touch. We will make suggestions where to buy the groceries, as we have brilliant contacts to some of the best and organic inspired suppliers in BC. Of course we always stay within the budget and all expenses over the agreed budget will be covered by us. There is no risk for you.
We are happy to discuss and develop your very own and special dinner menu for you and your guests, no matter if you are a romantic couple, a small group or host a party for 50 guests.
Costs
You will be surprised how affordable this service is. The rates can be calculated either by the number of your party guests and the number of courses you choose or in the very work intensive fine dining event we will charge by the hour. A service fee of S 20 per event (driving and use of spices and utensils), the cost for the groceries and taxes will be added to the service fee. In each case you know exactly how much you party is going to cost you. We always give you a quote so you can decide if it is worth for you being a guest at your own party.
The fee for a casual party service starts at $ 1 per guest and menu item for a party of 20 or more and a minimum of 4 items. For less than 20 guests the fee is $ 2 per guest and a minimum of 4 items.
For a high quality standard dinner with a small surprise to nibble, one appetizer, one main course and a dessert the fee starts at $ 8 per guest for a dinner group of 10 or more. For less then 10 guests the fee is $ 10 per guest.
For the work intensive fine dining experience (4 unforgettable courses) the hourly fee is $ 30 (Minimum of 6 h is normal with all the prep and side work). There is a maximum of 8 guests in this programm, as the quality will suffer with too many plates to prepare.

Health regultions require private chefs to prepare all meals in your home or in a commercial kitchen. The choice is yours, but the use of a commercial kitchen means an increase in the cost of our service as we have to rent a commercial kitchen. A standard kitchen in a private home is usually absolutely ok for our service. We bring all the equipment, utensils and tools needed. We only need to use your appliances and sufficient working space.
